A schedule is a specification for when and how frequently a job should run The basic principle of a schedule is to pull out the when portion of a job out of a job, thus associating it with different jobs It is created with the DBMS_SCHEDULERCREATE_ SCHEDULE procedure:

The START_DATE defaults to the current date and time This is the time that any jobs associated with this schedule will run The REPEAT_INTERVAL specifies how frequently the job should run, until the END_DATE Schedules without a specified END_DATE will run forever The REPEAT_INTERVAL argument can take a wide variety of calendaring expressions These consist of up to three elements: a frequency, an interval (defaulting to 1), and possibly several specifiers The frequency may be one of these values: YEARLY MONTHLY WEEKLY DAILY HOURLY MINUTELY SECONDLY The specifiers can be one of these: BYMONTH BYWEEKNO BYYEARDAY BYMONTHDAY BYHOUR BYMINUTE BYSECOND Using these elements of a REPEAT_INTERVAL makes it possible to set up schedules that should satisfy any requirement For example,

will run the job every 12 hours, starting at the START_DATE The next example,

Oftentimes a drop shadow is added to an object to create dimensionality The object appears as if it is free-floating, and the shadow appears as if it is naturally part of it Once you save your file in an exportable format to bring it into a page layout program, the shadow will not appear transparent against whatever background you have specified in your page layout program In other words, in Photoshop, you can tell a shadow how to affect the layer(s) below the shadow But once the file is saved as a TIFF or EPS, it is then recognized as a placed flat graphic in your page layout program, not a multilayered graphic Therefore, the graphic will have the same background as that specified in the Photoshop file Unless you have specified the same background color for both the Photoshop file and the file in your page layout program, the placed image and shadow will not float or appear transparent The good news is that you can create a drop shadow in Photoshop that will still retain transparent-like qualities once placed in other programs, by treating your drop shadow like a dithered bitmap That way, when you place it in a page layout program, it will be treated as a bitmapped graphic whose foreground color assignment can be whatever you choose and the background color assignment can be none so as to appear transparent against the background Remember, though, the shadow must be imported separately from the object If you create an object in Photoshop and export it with a clipping path, you will have to place that object into the page layout program and then place the shadow behind it in two separate operations These images are now two separate graphics This might sound confusing, but it s really a great technique and quite simple if you just follow the steps.
